Fresh Face at Furness

4th April 2013

Some 60 brethren were at Furness Mark Lodge No 36 to witness Ian Cottam being installed as WM by his predecessor Dave Sear. The representative of the P.G.M. was the Provincial Grand Junior Warden Russ Greenhow who was presented with a cheque for £360 and a further cheque for £125 representing the Gift Aid contributions, both in favour of the Provincial Charity.

Several Lodges were represented with Ray Dickinson of Jubilee, Jack Craig of Garnett and Reg Alder of Scorton being visiting Masters in Office who were among those who attended the ceremony and banquet. The lodge also enjoyed the presence of Tony Hall Prov.G.J.O.
Proceedings were overseen in an exemplary manner as you would expect from Ken Boon who, apart from being Lodge D.C., is the Prov.Dep.G.D.C.

Brian Davey delivered the address to the W.M., Geoff Waters that to the Wardens, Bill Joughin to the Overseers and Russ Greenhow to the Brethren. They were undertaken with the polish you would expect from such knowledgeable Marked Men whilst maintaining the individuality of style that made them a pleasure to listen to.

With candidates waiting the wings Ian can look forward to a busy and fruitful year in office.
